Panthers Fall 2-1 against Batbusters in Finals

What a wonderful weekend for our softball community in Central Florida, this USSSA event brought all teams and families together for a mid-day luncheon, inter-team kickball games and concluded with a balloon release in honor of a great coach, Rick Slaughter, a Diamond Girlz' coach who passed away one year before.

The Lady Panthers enjoyed a great weekend of softball, and although they left opportunities on the table Saturday, they rallied strong on elimination day.

On Sunday, the Lady Panthers knocked off the PFX 6-0 in round 1.  Their bats came alive in 2nd round against the Firecrackers with a hard fought 9-7 win placing them into the finals.

Deedee Longmire pitched a phenomenal game against the Batbusters putting the Panthers in a position to win.  The Panthers were in need of one timely hit to take the lead in the last inning but unfortunately that hit did not come through as the girls fell short 2-1.   Emily Lamay had a standout weekend both offensively and defensively for the Panthers.  They are back at it with USSSA in two weeks in Altamonte.
